Borderlands is a 22-channel spatial sound installation by Anni Nöps and Casimir Geelhoed.
The 30-minute sound installation establishes a delicate aural space at the edge of perception, oscillating between real and fictitious, and creating an environment that is continuously in-between, in progress and in flux. The installation uses virtual acoustics and spatial digital effects in a multi-speaker setup to create an experience of expanded space.
Part of the exhibition Ekstasis, curated by Sanneke Huisman and Nick Verstand.
Exhibited at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam (Netherlands) from June 2023 to January 2024
